Viverant continues its approach to comprehensive patient care by offering custom foot orthotics!

From the moment we place a foot on the ground, our bodies begin absorbing stress from movement. Proper function of the foot is necessary for normal posture and movement. Custom foot orthotics can help improve proper foot alignment and support, which is an integral part of preventing injuries as well as treating them. Common injuries where orthotics help decrease symptoms include:

  • Plantar fasciitis/heel pain
  • Posterior tibialis tendonitis
  • Achilles tendonitis
  • Patellofemoral syndrome-knee pain
  • Iliotibial band syndrome (ITB)
  • Low Back pain
  • General joint pain
  • Neuromas in the foot
  • And many more

Viverant’s Physical Therapists are the experts in musculoskeletal dysfunction and movement and are the optimal licensed professionals to see for foot orthotics. Our therapist looks at the entire individual when completing their comprehensive evaluation and molding. We consider an individual’s activity level, current complaints, and goals to ensure a proper orthotic design and fit.

Orthotics fabrication starts with a mold impression of your feet. This impression is sent to our hand-picked orthotics laboratory to create an individual’s custom biomechanical orthotic device.

This custom orthotic will selectively control stresses to the foot and lower legs, attenuate ground reaction forces, and promote normal movement. Ongoing assessment of an individual’s alignment and form is critical in fine-tuning orthotics during weight bearing and functional activities.
