Prescribed Rest Day

One of the fastest ways to guarantee an injury or reach a burnout point is by not implementing a rest day in your workout regimen. Runner's World reports, ? You may think that by not taking a rest day it will help you get stronger or faster, but the simple truth is that it won 't. The longer your workout streaks without rest, the greater your risk is for over training, injury and fatigue. Rest days do more than just prevent over training and injury. They also give your body time to restore glycogen stores, help you avoid mental burnouts, and allow muscles to repair and rebuild. Take good care of your body and know that every single athlete in the history of time takes a rest day.
