Education:
Nikki was a member of the Women’s Swimming Team for 4 years at Gustavus Adolphus College. She grew up running and spending her time participating in numerous water sports in the summer. She became interested in physical therapy through experience with sports-related injuries throughout high school and college. From this experience, Nikki has gained an understanding of what it is like to be held back from injury, and is passionate about helping patients return their sports and activities.
Through internships and clinical experiences in Arizona and Massachusetts, as well as her ongoing experience working hand-in-hand with Viverant PT Margi Heie, Nikki has focused on outpatient orthopedics by working with high school and college athletes, as well as the general population. She has experience working in the acute-care setting, post-operatively with patients after orthopedic surgery. Nikki believes the key to a successful recovery is to treat the patient as a whole and customize their program to help them reach their goals. This includes educating the patient to allow them to fully understand their condition and the treatment process.
In her spare time, Nikki enjoys hiking, being active outside, reading and spending time on the lake at her cabin.
