Physical Therapist
Peter graduated from Duke University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2005. He completed a residency in sports medicine at Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse, WI in 2008. During his time at Gundersen, Peter worked extensively with high school athletes, conducting running evaluations, and instructing in the Physical Therapy program at UW–La Crosse. After his sports residency, Peter successfully passed the board examination to earn the title of Sports Certified Specialist (SCS).
In 2011, Peter completed a fellowship in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy at the University of Illinois–Chicago. This involved extensive training in hands-on interventions for spine and extremity disorders. Peter also served as an instructor in the Physical Therapy program, for which he remains actively involved. After successful completion of the fellowship, Peter was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).
Peter emphasizes listening to each patient, educating them about their condition, and involving them in the planning of their rehab to tailor it to their individual goals. With his training in sports and manual therapy, Peter is able to analyze and treat problems from a variety of perspectives. Peter’s main interests in therapy are in running analysis, lower extremity injuries, and spine care. Outside of work, Peter is an avid runner, triathlete, nordic skier, and hiker. His personal highlights include finishing the Wisconsin Ironman, Boston and Chicago Marathons, and skiing several Birkies.
